I almost threw in the towel on this one. There were moments where I was really iffy about the way things were unfolding. Lana let her guard down a little to quickly for my liking after everything that Robert put her through. That's probably my biggest complaint...BUT, I'm so glad I stuck with it. Boy, did this book get better and better. Just Lana at the Speaker's Corner alone made this worth the read. Talk about a beautiful and eloquent moment. I enjoyed getting perspective on what Robert was experiencing when they were younger. It made me more forgiving of his past behavior even though I did question his sincerity a time or two. I was honestly scared for Lana, but she ended up being a lot stronger than meets the eye.
